This summer’s must-see music documentary AMY opens in cinemas across Ireland today, Friday 3rd July.

The much anticipated film by SENNA’s award-winning director Asif Kapadia looks at the life and career of the late Amy Winehouse.  Painstakingly assembled from extensive archive material, including the star’s own home movies, photographs, handwritten song lyrics, early demos of some of her most famous songs, as well as personal recollections from friends, family members, and creative collaborators, AMY is an emotionally searching and honest depiction of an extraordinary talent, whose battles with addiction would end with her promising career cut painfully short at the age of just 27.

The film has been garnering rave reviews such as:

“Stunningly moving and powerful. A Masterpiece” The Guardian

“A cinematic song for a lost soul” The Times

“Unmissable” Stylist

“Magical” Sunday Mirror

“Brilliant” The Independent

“Powerful and heartbreaking” Heat

“A masterpiece” GQ
