The Hollywood Reporter this week has said that AMY has become the top-grossing documentary of the year so far in the US and is quickly becoming one of the top-grossing documentaries in recent years.  Achieving a rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes it’s now one of the best reviewed films of the year.

So far it has earned $4.7m in the US and is about the eclipse the Oscar-winning 20 Feet From Stardom which grossed $4.9m last year.  With acclaimed reviews and positive word-of-mouth box office observers now say that has every chance of ultimately earning $7m or more in the US.

Meanwhile over this side of the pond the film continues to attract audiences and has grossed upward of $3m in the UK and Ireland so far.
