Crime Thriller SUBURRA Set For Irish Release on June 24th

The gripping and tense Italian crime thriller SUBURRA will be released in Irish cinemas on Friday 24th June.

Directed by the acclaimed Stefano Sollima (‘Gomorrah’, ‘Romanzo Criminale’) and based on the novel co-written by Carlo Bonino and Giancarlo De Cataldo SUBURRA follows former crime boss known as “Samurai” who wants to turn the waterfront of Rome into a new Las Vegas. All the local mob bosses have agreed to work for this common goal but peace doesn’t last long.  Secrets are quickly unravelled as increasingly powerful gangsters become caught in the crossfire. As the city begins to crumble, all those involved must choose to sink or swim by betraying those closest to them.

Commanding attention all the way to its bloody finale with never-boring storytelling and action-packed scenes SUBURRA was a box-office hit in Italy and has been wowing audiences and critics alike.

Empire Magazine has described the film as “a mafia thriller even Scorsese would be proud of”.  The stellar cast includes Pierfrancesco Favino (Rush, World War Z),  Elio Germano, Claudio Amendola, Villages Alessandro, Greta Scarano, Giulia Elettra Gorietti, Antonello Fassari and Jean-Hugues Anglade.

Netflix has commissioned a 10-part TV series as a follow up to the film which will premiere globally in 2017.
