Will Forte, star of the supernatural comedy Extra Ordinary will be the subject of this year’s Actors Masterclass at the Galway Film Fleadh, supported by Screen Skills Ireland.  The Masterclass will take place the morning of Saturday 13th July ahead of the EXTRA ORDINARY’s Irish premiere that evening.

Forte has established himself as one of the most versatile actors in film and television. For his work on The Last Man on Earth, he was nominated for a 2016 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and in 2015 he was nominated for both in two Emmy Award categories:  Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. He was also nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award in the category of Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 2015 and 2016 and received two 2016 WGA nominations.

He recently starred in the David Wain-directed feature film A Futile and Stupid Gesture. He is also known for his starring role in the feature film adaptation of MacGruber for which he co-wrote with Jorma Taccone and John Solomon.

Other film credits include the recent comedy Keanu; Peter Bogdanovich’s She’s Funny That Way opposite Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson; Life of Crime opposite Jennifer Aniston, John Hawkes, Tim Robbins and Isla Fisher; Run and Jump which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and won the Best Irish Feature Award at the Galway Film Festival; the Adam Sandler Netflix comedy The Ridiculous 6 as well as That’s My Boy opposite Sandler and Andy Samberg; and The Watch opposite Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Vince Vaughn. Additionally, he wrote and starred in the feature The Brothers Solomon opposite Will Arnett and Kristen Wiig. Forte has  also lent his voice to the hit animated films The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and its sequel, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

The masterclass will be moderated by Maureen Hughes.  Maureen trained as an artistic assistant under Garry Hynes at Druid Theatre Company in the 1980s and went on in 1992 to work in the Abbey Theatre for two-and-a-half years as Head of Casting. She moved into film and television, working with Susie Figgis on casting The Butcher Boy and subsequently went out on her own to cast several major screen productions, including the Oscar®-winning films Six Shooter and Once, and recent award-winning RTE productions Love-Hate, Charlie, Clean Break, and Rebellion. Film credits include: Agnes Browne, Borstal Boy, Disco Pigs, Noble and This Must Be the Place.

EXTRA ORDINARY is the debut feature from writer/directors Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman starring Forte, Maeve Higgins, Barry Ward, and Claudia O’Doherty.

The Irish premiere of the film is on Saturday 13th July at 8pm at Town Hall Theatre.  Tickets are available through the Galway Film Fleadh website
