HILL STREET, the documentary about the rise of Irish skateboarding culture in the ’70s and ’80s, is now available for purchase on iTunes worldwide.

The film revolves around the legendary skate shop opened by Clive Rowen on Dublin’s Hill Street in 1978. It documents the store’s seismic impact on the nascent skating scene in the city and the country as a whole, tracing the subsequent development of the scene as it deals with cobbled together facilities, hostile locals, and legal crackdowns. The story culminates with Tony Hawk (who is interviewed for the film) and his legendary Bones Brigade crew visiting Dublin, an event which goes down in Irish skating folklore.

Featuring a host of interviews with luminaries of the Irish and global skating scene and vintage footage from this vanished era, HILL STREET summons up the outlaw spirit of the capital city’s skating culture in a time when anything seemed possible.
