Following its’ screening at the Cork Film Festival on Thursday, Frank Berry’s Michael Inside was awarded the Audience Award, and two Honourable Mentions at the festivals’ closing ceremony yesterday.

The film’s lead actor Dafhyd Flynn received an Honourable Mention in the Gradam Spiorad Na Féile / Spirit of The Festival Award category for his role as Michael McCrea, an impressionable 18-year-old living with his grandfather who gets caught holding a bag of drugs for his friend’s older brother and is sentenced to three months in prison.  The film also received an Honourable Mention in the Youth Jury Award category.

Michael Inside has been wowing critics and audiences alike since its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh earlier this year where it picked up the Best Irish Feature accolade.

Produced by Donna Eperon, Tristan Orpen Lynch and Aoife O’Sullivan for Subotica and Write Direction Films, the film was made with funding from the Irish Film Board.

Wildcard Distribution will be bringing Michael Inside to Irish cinemas audiences in 2018.
