Moviegoers north of the border will finally get a chance to see Terry McMahon’s multi-award winning Patrick’s Day when it opens in selected Movehouse cinemas across Northern Ireland on Friday the 24th April. The critically acclaimed film will be playing in Moviehouse’s City Side, Dublin Road, and Coleraine locations.

Patrick’s Day is a provocative and heartfelt exploration of a young man’s quest for intimacy and the the extreme lengths his domineering mother takes to keep him under her control. Starring rising talent Moe Dunford as Patrick, and Kerry Fox as his mother, McMahon’s second film as director opened to excellent notices in the Republic in March and has also played the global festival circuit to considerable acclaim.

The Belfast Telegraph’s four star review calls the film “utterly compelling”, saying “Neither a basic romance nor a simple chronicle of mental illness, Patrick’s Day is really about care, control, consequence, and above all, people who have more in common with each other than any of them would admit”
