The new film from acclaimed filmmaker Pat Collins, SONG OF GRANITE, has screened at the SXSW film festival in Austin Texas.

The film brings the dramatic life story of legendary sean nós singer Joe Heaney to the screen and is an audacious exploration of the man and his music. With an approach that marries traditional narrative episodes with documentary footage, the film will celebrate the music Joe Heaney created while painting an unflinching portrait of Heaney, the man.

Song Of Granite is already getting great reviews including this article from IndieWire who call the film “Modest in subject but ambitious in form, “Song of Granite” delivers a profile of not just a singer but the country that made him.”

The film is produced by Amérique Film and Marcie Films.

Song Of Granite is coming soon to cinemas.
