Cork audiences will get a chance to attend a special screening of A Doctor’s Sword tomorrow night (Tuesday 18th August) in the Triskel Christchurch Cinema in Cork city centre when the film’s producer Bob Jackson will attend the screening and take part in a post screening Q&A.

The film which is screening in the Triskel all week is the almost unbelievable tale of a young man from Cork (Dr Aidan MacCarthy) who survived some of the most harrowing episodes of World War II (including the atomic bombing of Nagasaki), and his family’s search to uncover the origin of the Japanese Samurai sword which he brought home, and which now resides in MacCarthy’s Bar in Castletownbere.

Tickets to the special screening and Q&A can be purchased on the Triskel Arts Centre website

A Doctor’s Sword is currently screening in:

Irish Film Institute Dublin
Cinemax Bantry
Omniplex Mahon Point Cork
Omniplex Limerick

The film will open in The Phoenix in Dingle on Monday 24th August.
