Wildcard Titles Win at the IFTA’s

Wildcard titles including The Young Offenders, The Secret Scripture, The Journey and I Am Not A Serial Killer all picked up awards at last night’s glittering IFTA’s which took place in Dublin’s Mansion House.

Peter Foott was awarded Best Script for his box office smash hit comedy The Young Offenders.  Colm Meaney won Best Lead Actor for his portrayal of Martin McGuinness in the upcoming release The Journey.

Jim Sheridan’s The Secret Scripture which is currently playing in cinema’s across the country scooped Best Original Score (Brian Byrne) and Best Production Design (Derek Wallace) while Nick Emerson picked up the Best Editing accolade for his work on the sci-fi thriller I Am Not A Serial Killer.

The Irish Film Board’s short animated film Second To None directed by Vincent Gallagher picked up Best Animated Short.
