Peter Foott the co-owner of Vico Films and the writer/director of The Young Offenders has been featured in an article on Drop Everything, the highly successful blog on all things Dropbox.  In the article Peter discusses the use of new media and online sharing tools such as Dropbox as a way of collaborating on films with people from all around the world.

Peter talks about finding the right talent to create his first feature film The Young Offenders. He says, “production companies use a lot of freelancers and there’s often a lot of competition for the best talent. On our latest project – a film called The Young Offenders – we had a sound designer in Greece, an editor in France, a composer in Co Wicklow, a colourist in Galway, a VFX expert in Dun Laoghaire, a music editor in Dublin City and I live in Cork. Many of the team I had never even met in person – I just knew they were the best at what they do.”

Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders is a comedy about two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, who embark on a 160km road trip along the coast on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke. They soon learn that not all plans are idiot proof.
