Following on from a remarkable opening weekend last week where it achieved the highest opening for an Irish film at the Republic of Ireland Box Office this year, THE YOUNG OFFENDERS is opening in three new cinemas today.  With the additions of the Odeon cinema’s in Cavan, Naas and Portlaoise it means that the film is now screening in 68 cinemas across the country.

Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, the laugh-out-loud comedy follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of cocaine.  It’s the debut feature from Peter Foott and introduces new acting talent Chris Walley and Alex Murphy in the lead roles.

Audiences are loving the film and have taken to Twitter to praise it with people many giving it top marks and saying they’re going to see it again!  Here is a round-up of some of our favourite tweets!

THE YOUNG OFFENDERS continues to screen in cinemas nationwide this week.
