Following on from its successful international premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin last month where it picked up an Honourable Mention for Best Comedy Film, THE YOUNG OFFENDERS is set for its UK premiere tomorrow at the BFI London International Film Festival. The prestigious festival, which opened last night and will run until 16th October, will screen the comedy three times in various venues over the course of this weekend giving London audiences a great chance to catch the film.

Meanwhile, the Irish Box Office hit, which has surpassed the €700k mark, is now heading into its fourth week of release (fifth including previews) here in Ireland. With an opening tomorrow in Movie Junction, Cork the film is still showing in 63 cinemas across the country.

Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, THE YOUNG OFFENDERS follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of cocaine. It’s the debut feature from Peter Foott and introduces new acting talent Chris Walley and Alex Murphy in the lead roles.
