BLACK 47 Wins Best Film Award at IFTA’s

The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Awards were announced last night in a virtual ceremony hosted by Deirdre O’Kane.
Lance Daly’s box-office hit BLACK 47 scooped the main award of Best Film 2019. The revenge thriller set against the backdrop of the Great Irish Famine also picked up the award for Best Hair & Make-Up (Liz Byrne and Linda Gannon).
Aisling Franciosi received the Screen Ireland Rising Star Award for her gut-wrenching performance in the harrowing drama THE NIGHTINGALE.
The stunning documentary GAZA won the award for Best Editing (Mick Mahon).
Ivan Kavanagh’s Western NEVER GROW OLD starring Emile Hirsch and John Cusack picked up awards for Best Cinematography (Piers McGrail) and Best Production Design (John Leslie).
